Network-level IP blocked from access due to legal requirement🩹 Legal Requirements & Bans
We have made the decision due to the local age verification laws for social media that to block access to our network in some locations. We do not collect user data and due to this we have no way to do age verification. This block does not prevent people from browsing the site, viewing profiles, or seeing embeds, but does prevent sign in or sign up when the visitor IP is in the following locations. ### What locations are affected? ### * Region / Mississippi (USA) __ (State Code: MS) __ * Region / Utah (USA) __ (State Code: UT) __ * Region / Tennessee (USA) __ (State Code: TN) __ * Region / Louisiana (USA) __ (State Code: LA) __ * Region / Connecticut (USA) __ (State Code: CT) __ * Region / Texas (USA) __ (State Code: TX) __ * Region / Virginia (USA) __ (State Code: VA) __ * Country / Australia __ (Country Code: AU) __ * Country / United Kingdom __ (Country Code: GB) __ -- ### Why? ### Long story short, most of the social media laws are vague, and open ended with no minimum network sizes, or specific rules around networks that already don't have algorithm feeds or that already block adult content. Due to this we have no way to have any validation if we are in violation of any rules and due to our smaller network size we can NOT take any risks. The open nature of some locations having the laws go in and out of court and be blocked at times also makes things extremely complicated and hard to follow. -- ### Why this is bad ### We do not have the income, the ability, or the lack of morals required to do mass ID verification and data collection on visitors. Laws like this are only going to hurt smaller providers like us and we are disappointed in governments in removing any competition from the major providers. Limits should be placed on the rules so they affect larger or more harmful networks specially with algorithmic feeds. This gives a unfair advantage for the larger providers who can collect user data and process it in a way that is unsafe and low cost to them but would be overall to expensive for smaller networks to do. -- ### Can you unblock my ip? ### Sorry but we can not, this would require ID verification. IF the data we have on an IP is incorrect and not from the location we have recorded feel free to open a ticket so we can fix that match. We can not and will not collect users identity's to do age verification. We may over time open up the system so we can do verification via a payment with a credit card but at this time that's a time consisting system to build and moderate. -- ### I cant access the site and I am not in a location listed above ### If you see the ban message and link to this page it may be due to you being on a VPN connection and our system detects the VPN IP as being hosted in a blocked location. There is no 100% way to detect this so we just go based on the network provider ASN list. If you are NOT in a banned location and using a VPN change your VPN location settings to see if that helps. -- ### More info ### #### USA region bans #### We follow a few resources for finding what places have social media bans that require age verification. Since we do not do age verification and are unable to with our strict standards on user privacy we must block any area that has a ID verification requirement.
